    • Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 30, 1951 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Ward Dawley, 70, Dies Suddenly In Fort Leazier Home - Ward Irwin Dawley, 70, died suddenly Saturday morning at his farm in the Fort Leazier district, where he had lived for many years. Born in the Town of Richland on October 13, 1880, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Price Dawley. He was a farmer by occupation. Survivors include his wife, Leah Orvis Dawley; a son, Harold Dawley, a brother Orley Dawley of Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Ewart of Albion and Mrs. Earl Wood of Port Ontario. Private funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Karl W. Gibbs Funeral Home, Mexico, with the Rev. Harold Barnhard, pastor of the Carthage Methodist church officiating. Bearers were Claude Minckler, Arthur Marten, George Rogers, Albert Rogers, Glenn Buck, all of Mexico and William Haig of Oswego. Burial was in Willis cemetery, Town of Richland.
