    • Newspaper Obituary - April 4, 1979 Sandy Creek News - Raymond C. Stewart, 82, Syracuse Road, Pulaski, Route 4, died Friday morning, March 30, 1979 at his home. Born May 16, 1896, at Richland, a son of Pearl and Mary Wyman Stewart he attended Pulaski Academy and High School and married Ethel A. Pevert, Nov. 19, 1916, in Pulaski.They lived in the Syracuse section where he was employed by the Allied Chemical Co., at Solvay as a maintenance foreman, retiring in 1962. Since then, he and his wife had a roadside produce stand. He was a member of Pulaski Lodge IOOF, Rising Sun Rebekah Lodge 149, IOOF, and was charter member of the Half-Shire Historical Club of Richland and was a former member of the Richland Cemetery Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Stewart; a son, Harold E., Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, Raymond C. Jr., died Oct. 21, 1976. The funeral was held Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with Rev. Charles Austin, officiating. Burial was in Richland Cemetery. In past years, we had occasion to stop at his vegetable stand located on Route 11, just south of Fernwood Corners. Mr. Stewart was always very courteous and helpful and his customers certainly appreciated it a great deal.
