- Newpaper Obituary - July 18, 1968 Sandy Creek News - Lewis Look Dies In Herkimer - Lewis Look, 89, a former resident of Richland, died Friday, June 21, 1968 in Herkimer. He was born in the Town of Richland and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Look. He moved away from this area about 20 years ago. His wife the former Lulu Green of Pulaski died several years ago. Survivors are three brothers, Clarence Look of Sodus Point and Jerry and Albert Look of Richland and five children, George Look of California; Eugen Look of Cortland; Mrs. Lucy Shepard of Herkimer and William Look of Rochester; also several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A son, Willis and a daughter, Lillian, have died.
Newspaper Obituary - Monday, June 24, 1968 Daily Sentinel - Rome, New York - L. H. Look Dies at 89 In Herkimer - Lewis H. Look, 89, of 240 1/2 Eastern Ave., Herkimer, a retired carpenter and former Rome area resident, died June 22 in Herkimer Memorial Hospital. He was born March 29, 1879 in Richland, the son of Eugene and Mary Barley(Barlow) Look. His wife, the former Lulu Greene, whom he married in Pulaski died about six years ago. Mr. Look was a blacksmtih in the early 1900's and later became a carpenter. For several years he was employed at the Comstock Lumber Co. here. He retired in the mid 1950's. Mr. Look attended the First Methodist Church, Herkimer. Surviving are two sons, William P. Look, Rochester, and Eugene Look, Groton; a daughter, Mrs. Nathaniel (Lucy) Shepard, Herkimer; one brother, Jerry Look, Richland; three step brothers, Ernest Look, Canisteo; Albert Look, Lacona, and Clarence Look, Sodus Point; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 today at the Fenner Funeral Home, Herkimer and burial took place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.
