- Newspaper Obituary - January 3, 1992 The Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Jeanette Metchik, 73, of 7675 Jefferson St. died Thursday at the home of her daughter in Savona. A native of Binghamton, Mrs. Metchik also lived several years on Long Island before moving to Pulaski in 1958. She retired in 1973 after 18 years as a teacher at the Williamstown Elementary School and previously taught school on Long Island. Mrs. Metchik was a graduate of Cortland Normal School and Alfred University. Mrs. Metchik was a member of the Pulaski Congregational Church, the Oswego County Retired Teachers Association, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Pulaski Tuesday Study Club, the Pulaski Civic Club and Pulaski Chapter 159, OES. She was a volunteer at the Pulaski Public Library. Surviving are a daughter, Nan M. Hall of Savona; a sister, Bonnie Parker of Pulaski; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Pulaski Congregational Church. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St. Contributions may be made to the Pulaski Congregational Church or the Pulaski Public Library.
