Notes - Newspaper Obituary - February 1, 1883 Pulaski Democrat - Port Ontario - Died - Zilpha Smith, widow of Jas. Smith and sister of Alpheus Bohanan, Aged 93 years. Mrs. Smith, has been very feeble for a number of years. On the first of January she appeared worse and Dr. Low was called and pronounced it a stroke from which she died January 22d. Her funeral was held at the school house. Rev. L. Clark officiated. He took his text, Eccl. xii., 13th verse, "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." Mrs. Smith's parents were among the first settlers of Richland. They moved from Canada and settled near the mouth of Snake Creek, when this town was a dense forest and the nearest grist mill was in Rome.
