Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 8, 1950 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico - Funeral services for James J. Barclay, 40, whose body was found in his parked car on the Town Line road about three miles south of this village before noon on Tuesday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Karl Gibbs Funeral Home, Mexico, the Rev. Merle C. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Willis Cemetery, town of Richland. Mr. Barclay was born in Pulaski, July 3, 1910, a son of William and Alice Corbett Barclay. A steel worker at the Holcomb Steel Company in Syracuse, Barclay had lived in this vicinity most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Norton Barclay; a son, David Barclay of Mexico; four daughters, Misses Velma, Linda and Diane Barclay, all of Mexico, and Mrs. Cassius Shumway of Seneca Falls; his father, William Barclay; a brother, Lester Barclay; seven sisters, Mrs. Earl Waterbury, Mrs. Larry Koch, Mrs. Kenneth Bonner, Miss Erma Barclay, Mrs. William Briggs and Mrs. Monford Preman, all of Mexico, and Mrs. Stephen Tripp of Akron, Ohio.
