Notes - Robert L. Matteson, 71, of Mexico passed away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Leslie and Grace Hesler Matteson. He was a Navy veteran. He was a carpenter for Local #12 of Syracuse, NY. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, the former Mary Jacobs; one daughter, Meredith (Jamie) Comstock of Orwell; one son, Adam R. Matteson of Oswego; four grandchildren, Koby, Hannah, Cassie and Hailey. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY. Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the Albany VA Stratton House, 110 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY.
