Mrs. Ellen C. LaRose, 99, of Syracuse, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Loretto Geriatric Center. A native and life resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of North High School, Class of 1923, and a graduate of the former Central City Business Institute (CCBI), Class of 1924. Mrs. LaRose was a supervisor with Muench-Kreuzer Candle Company for 29 years and retired in 1971. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Edward J. LaRose, on October 28, 2001.
Survived by one daughter, Jean (Daniel) Sherlock of Syracuse; two sisters, Carol (George) Benedict of Mattydale, NY, and Barbara (Richard) Purcell of Camillus, NY; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 900 N. Salina Street.
