      Joan R. Saunders, 63, of 14 River St., died Saturday at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.

      Mrs. Saunders worked at North Country Veterinary Services for 27 years. She previously operated the Coffee Cup Restaurant. She was a lifelong resident of Pulaski.

      Born Sept. 17, 1936, in Pulaski, daughter of Leon and Lillian Hilton Rossman, she attended Pulaski Academy High School.

      She married William C. Saunders on Nov. 16, 1956, in the Pulaski Methodist Church parsonage with the Rev. Russell Clark, pastor, officiating. Mr. Saunders died July 29, 1992.

      Mrs. Saunders was a member of Park United Methodist Church and the Monday night women's bowling league.

      Surviving are two daughters, Deborah A. Potter and Pamela J. Helinger, both of Pulaski; two brothers, Jon Rossman, Jordan, and Arthur Rossman, Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Joyce Burke, Tempe, and six grandchildren.

      A daughter, Karen L. Scarrott, died July 6, 1998.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
