- John Tighe Obituary
John Thomas Tighe, 77 of Pulaski passed away Monday August 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in his parents home at 10 Port St, Pulaski, NY on November 29, 1947. He was the son of William and Jane (Manwarring) Tighe.
He attended and graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Navy that summer. Following basic training at Great Lakes, IL and graduating from Jet Mechanic School he was stationed at NAAS Meridian, Mississippi where Navy pilots received their jet flight training. John cherished his service time in the US Navy.
After his honorable USN discharge he became a proud union member for 56 years of the Carpenters Union working with pile driving crews and was always willing and able to help any of his friends with their projects until a fall disabled him.
John married Judy Wilder in 1973 and they raised two children, William (Billy), Rochester and Rebecca (husband Bill Cranford) Connecticut at their home next to the Wilder family farm on Rt 11 between Pulaski and Sandy Creek.
He loved his family, hunting, fishing, reading and the TV series Gunsmoke. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Linda and her husband Gary Clark. He is survived by sister Barbara (Michael) Johnson, three brothers Jim (Jan) Tighe, Michael (Paula) Tighe and David (Diane) Tighe.
John enjoyed life and allm it's challanges. His self analysis of his life was "ridden hard and put away wet too many times buthave no regrets!" He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
