Margaret J. Crandall, 73, of 3027 County Route 15, Sandy Pond, died Saturday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Mrs. Crandall lived at Port Ontario and Richland, moving to Sandy Pond in 1946. She was employed at Crescent Corset Factory, Adams, Evergreen Nursing Home, Pulaski, and Hotel Comfort, Sandy Pond, before retiring.
She was a member of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, the J.B. Butler Women's Relief Corps 127, Pulaski, and the Oswego County Fair Association.
Born Aug. 21, 1926, in Richland, daughter of Rudolph and Pauline Charneski Potish, she graduated in 1945 from Pulaski Academy High School and attended Community- General Hospital School of Nursing, Syracuse.
She married Leon R. Crandall Sr. on Nov. 24, 1946, at Park Methodist Church with the Rev. James Pauley, pastor, officiating.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Leon R. Jr. and Peter J., both of Oswego; a daughter, Susan L. Crandall, Sandy Pond; a brother, Victor Potish, Sandy Pond; two sisters, Sophie Mullen, Blairsville, Ga., and Annie Schryver, Port Ontario, and four grandchildren.
A brother, Nicholas Potish, and a sister, Amelia Potish, died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sandy Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Bell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, Port Ontario.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.
Donations may be made to the dialysis unit at Genesis HealthCare, in the care of Kathy Merritt, 218 Stone St., Watertown, or the Friendship Shop, Main Street, Sandy Creek.
