Notes - Newspaper Obituary - Watertown Daily Times (NY) - July 18, 2008 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - ELIZABETH J. EVANCHIK - PULASKI - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Evanchik, 83, Pulaski, died Wednesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego. Mrs. Evanchik was employed by Our Lady of Mercy School, Hicksville, for many years. Born April 20, 1925, in Pulaski, daughter of Clifford and Florence Wilder Montondo, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1943 and from Crouse Irving School of Nursing, Syracuse, in 1945. She resided in Pulaski until 1943, when she moved to Plainview and Queens. She returned to Pulaski in 1983. She married Anton Evanchik on May 30, 1948. He died Nov. 23, 1986. Mrs. Evanchik was a member of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Michael A. and Rosemary, Springfield, Va., and Stephen D. and Robin, Oswego; a daughter, Barbara J. Evanchik, Summit, N.J.; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Evanchik, Mexico; a sister and her husband, Barbara Donald McCumber, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, William C., died April 27, 2006. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
