      Emily L. Snow

Emily L. Snow was born in this village in 1837. She early applied her mind to study and became an intelligent and useful woman. She married attorney James Fenton and to this union were born, two of whom, Mrs. J.T. Hoyt, of Baltimore, Md., and Grace L. Fenton of White Plains, survive, the father dying over a quarter of a century ago. In 1890 she married attorney S.C. Huntington, who died in 1894. Several years were spent in New York with her daughters but failing health made it necessary to leave the city and four years ago she came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Hubbs, of Lacona, where she was tenderly cared for by them.

Her funeral was held from the home of Mr. Walter Barlow, of Lacona, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.A. Rogers, pastor of the Pulaski Baptist church, with which Mrs. Huntington has held membership since her girlhood. Burial was made in Pulaski cemetery.

Miss Grace Fenton and Miss Jessie Hoyt, daughter and granddaughter were present at the funeral, also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Benjamin Snow.

While she lived among us her presence always cast a ray of light, an influence of good. Our community was made richer in the virtues abides from her having been born raised and associated with the people of this community. None of us will soon forget her. Her memory will ever be an inspiration to her friends.
