Notes - Leo V. Doran Sr., 82, formerly of North Syracuse, NY, passed away Thursday at his daughter's home in Chittenango. His wife of 57 years, Jane Gates Doran (Dec. 10, 2006), and his son, Michael Doran, predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Carol Olander; seven children, Susan (Frank) Kordziel of Chittenango, Sharon (William) Schlueter of Chittenango, Leo V. Doran Jr., of N. Syracuse, Sherry Doran of Chittenango, William (Roxanne) Doran of Cicero, Sally Doran of Marcellus and Paul Doran of Parish; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Born in Watertown, NY, son of George William and Mary Towle, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1942. Leo served in the Army Air Force, worked for Sunoco Oil Company and retired from Sears Roebuck. Leo loved to fish and hunt. He loved his dogs dearly, especially Gretchen, but we all truly admired how much he loved his wife, "Janie." Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at New Comer Family Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, before services. Leo's burial and Jane's spring burial will be together at 11 a.m. Thursday in Riverside Cemetery, Richland. With gratitude and in lieu of flowers, contributions in Leo's name can be made to Hospice of CNY or the SPCA.
