Obituary
Shirley J. Halsey, age 87, life resident of Orwell and Pulaski, passed away Monday at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Oswego. Shirley was born February 23, 1936, in Orwell, the daughter of Lester and Ruth Marion Palmiteer Blodgett. She attended Sandy Creek Schools. Shirley was married to Donald Halsey in 1952 and he passed away in 1970. She was employed by Birdseye Food in Fulton for many years.
Surviving are four daughters, Marion Martin of Fulton, Cindy Gregory of Richland, Sue Skotnicki of Richland, and Patty Fox (David James) of Watertown, one son, Rick Halsey of Orwell, sister Marie (George) Bemiss of Orwell, 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her son, James Halsey, and grandson, JonMichael Halsey.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m., Tuesday, September 5th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family would like to thank that staff at St. Luke’s for the special care they provided to Shirley.
