Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday Evening, November 11, 1914 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - Well Known Woman Dead - Pulaski, November 11 - In the death of Mrs. Arthur I. Decatur, which occurred Monday night at the Herrick farm, about three miles south of this village, the town of Richland loses a most estimable woman. A few days ago Mrs. Decatur, who until recently had been living in this village, was stricken with pneumonia, which caused her death. She was born in this town April 6, 1865, on the farm adjoining the one on which she passed away. A few weeks ago the family moved from this village to the Herrick farm. Mrs. Decatur was a past noble grand of Rising Sun Rebekah Degree Lodge No. 149 and at a meeting held in Oswego last summer was unanimously elected as secretary to Mrs. Leonard A. Knowlton of Pulaski, district deputy president of the First district of Oswego county. The deceased was also a member of Pulaski Grange No. 730, Patrons of Husbandry. Besides her father, Hiram J. Herrick, who is past 86 and makes his home with the Decatur family, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Enos R. Hill of this village and Miss Ruth Decatur, who lives at home. A brother, Ralph R. Herrick, is also a resident of this town. The funeral will be held from the family home at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and will be attended by members of the Rebekah Degree Lodge and the Grange.
