Charles F. Rood, 80, of 2981 Town Center Road, Baldwinsville, died Saturday. Born in Pulaski, he lived 18 years in Lysander before moving to Baldwinsville. Before his retirement, he was superintendent of buildings and grounds for the Baldwinsville school district. He was a past president and a life member of the Lysander Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Lysander United Methodist Church and Mariner United Methodist Church, Spring Hill, Fla., and helped organize a Boy Scout troop at the church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Ruth E. Parker, died in 1994.
Survivors: Three sons, Fred of Baldwinsville and David and Dennis, both of Syracuse; four sisters, Orla Skinner of Pulaski, Laura James of Syracuse, Nellie Pearson of Parish and Annamae Reed of Tully; 13 grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. today in Lysander United Methodist Church, Lamson Road, Lysander. Burial, Florida National Cemetery. No calling hours. National Cremation Service, Syracuse, has arrangements.
