Newspaper Obituary - Monday, July 16, 2001 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Viantha "Mamie" Caufield King, 79, of 4051 Port St., died Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse. Mrs. King was a salesclerk at the former Harris Department Store, retiring in 1984. Born February 9, 1922, in Pulaski, daughter of Austin and Dorothy Durgee Canfield, she was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She married Allen T. King on February 9, 1946, in St. John's rectory with the Rev. Edward P. Kenefic officiating. Mr. King died October 2, 1975. She was a communicant of St. John's Church. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Day, Sandy Creek; a son, Michael A., Northborough, Mass.; a sister, Isabelle Kundell, Mexico, five grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Roderick Caufield, died before her. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Frances Church, Lacona, with the Rev. John F. Hogan officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours are 7 to 9:30 p.m. today at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
