Halsey, 87, Springbrook Apartments, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse. Mr. Halsey worked at General Electric, Syracuse, from 1950 until his retirement in 1979 and had owned a dairy farm from 1943 to 1950. Born December 8, 1916, in Fernwood, son of Verner and Bertha Manwarren Halsey, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1935. He married Muriel J. Manwarren on June 1, 1943. He was a lifelong member of Fernwood United Methodist Church, was a member of the former Fernwood Grange and a member of Mexico Senior Citizens. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Betsy E. Ameele, Baldwinsville, and Bonnie J. Tetz, Alpine, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fernwood United Methodist Church. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are with Foster-Flax Funeral Home. Donald I. Halsey, 87, Springbrook Apartments, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Halsey worked at General Electric, Syracuse, from 1950 until his retirement in 1979 and had owned a dairy farm from 1943 to 1950.
Born Dec. 8, 1916, in Fernwood, son of Verner and Bertha Manwarren Halsey, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1935.
He married Muriel J. Manwarren on June 1, 1943.
He was a lifelong member of Fernwood United Methodist Church, was a member of the former Fernwood Grange and a member of Mexico Senior Citizens.
