Newspaper Obituary - December 3, 2008 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Julia G. Stevens, age 89, of River Street, life resident of Pulaski, died Monday at Crouse Irving Hospital, Syracuse. She was born December 21, 1918, in Syracuse the daughter of Henry and Violet Stewart Guthrie. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1936. She was married to Ernest C. Stevens in 1941, he died in 1955. She was employed by Red & White Supermarket in Pulaski for 20 years retiring in 1978. Surviving: one son, Craig (Darcy) Stevens of Pulaski; one daughter, Judy Stevens of Pulaski; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by one son Gary Stevens who died October 1962, one granddaughter Cheri Stevens who died November 11, 2003 and one brother William Guthrie in August 18, 2002. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St., Pulaski, with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, Lake Street Pulaski, NY 13142.
