- Newspaper Obituary - December 2, 1943 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Charles R. Dunning Dies Following Long Illness - Charles R. Dunning, 76, died at Marcy State Hospital Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 23, following a long illness. Death was caused by bronchial pneumonia. Born in the town of Granby, Nov. 7, 1867, Mr. Dunning was the son of Lewis and Mary Wood Dunning. He lived in Syracuse for many years, following the trade of a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of Carpenters Local 12 and Loyal Order of Moose, Syracuse. Surviving are a son, Harold Dunning, Mexico; three grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Campbell, Long Beach, Calif.; Harold Dunning, Mexico, and Richard Velnoff, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Cecil Plumb, pastor of Mexico Presbyterian church. Burial was in Pulaski cemetery.
