      Charles White, 66, of 1148 County Route 13, died Sunday in Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.

      Mr. White was a self-employed truck driver and drove for Northern Concrete, Fulton, retiring in 2000.

      Born July 11, 1937, in Lacona, son of Hugh and Mildred Forney White, he attended school in Sandy Creek.

      A marriage ended in divorce.

      He was a retired 32-year member and former president of the Lacona Volunteer Fire Department.

      Surviving are his companion, Verna Kay "Butch" Caufield, Lacona; two daughters, Charlotte Kehoe, Pulaski, and Jolene Potter, Sandy Creek; four sons and their wives, Gary and Vickie, South Carolina, Charles and Cathy, Peachtree City, Ga., George and Teresa, Sandy Creek, and Jim and Stacy, Lacona; two sisters, Patricia Murdent, Chittenango, and Penny Edick, Syracuse; two brothers, Eugene, Camillus, and Chris, Scriba; 20 grandchildren, two aunts, nieces and nephews.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Brian Snyder, pastor of Boylston and Sandy Creek Wesleyan churches, officiating. Spring burial will be private.

      Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
