- Newspaper Obituary - August 29, 2006 Syracuse Post Standard - Erwin Brewer, 89, died Sunday at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. He was born in Fulton to the late Clayton and Verna Brewer, and has remained a life resident of Fulton, NY. He retired in 1981 from Armstrong Co., Fulton, as a general superintendent. Mr. Brewer was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Thomas) Buckingham of Croghan, NY; stepdaughter, Judy (Robert) Young of Fulton; stepson, James Mangano of Hannibal; his brother, Clayton (Jean) Brewer Jr., of Fulton; his sister, Luella Powers of Fulton; his sister-in-law and caretaker, Rhoda Brown; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces, and nephews. Mr. Brewer was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Dennison; his second wife, Blanche Ward; his brother, George Brewer; his sister, Adele Robbins; and granddaughter, Vickie Frawley Gioia. Committal Service and Military Honors will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at Fairdale Cemetery with Rev. Moritz Fuchs and the Fulton VFW #569.
