- Newspaper Obituary - February 26, 1963 Syracuse Post Standard - Elmer Leo Ward - Fulton - Services for Elmer Leo Ward, 40, of 345 Otsego St Ilion, a retire master sergeant of the Marine Corps, who was found dead in his car Sunday morning at a garage at 350 Otsego St., Ilion, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Young and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Ward was born in Granby and resided in Fulton many years. He was a graduate of Fulton High School and served with the Marine Corps for 21 years, retiring in March 1962. He was currently serving as manager of the Colonial Theater in Norwich. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Ward; a daughter, Linda Ward, Kiltery, Maine; two sisters, Ernest Brewer, Fulton and Mrs. Francis Brown, Fulton; a brother, Newton Ward, Fulton, several nieces and nephews, two stepdaughters and two stepsons.
