Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 12, 1975 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - C. M. Benjamin Dies Suddenly - Clarence M Benjamin, 64, of 7491 Rome Road, Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, February 6 at 8:20 p.m. According to local police reports, Mr. Benjamin was returning home from a drive in his son's car when a heart attack occurred. Mr. Benjamin was found slumped over the steering wheel in the car which stopped in front of his home. Village police were notified and they called NOCA. Dr. McChesney arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him dead. Mr. Benjamin was born on October 4, 1910 in Adams, the son of the late Roy and Mabel Fitzgerald Benjamin. He attended Bellville schools and was married to Martha Ward on June 13, 1946. Mr. Benjamin worked as a farmer, a carpenter and a machinist, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the NE-OS-CO horseshoe club, was an avid bowler, was a member of the Pitch Club at the Cedar Post and was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha; three daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Elaine) Fairchild of Pulaski, Mrs. James (Penny) Shutts, Jr., of Sandy Creek and Miss Louise Benjamin at home; one son, Garry of Central Square; one granddaughter; his mother, Mrs. Raymond Baird of Pulaski; one brother, Richard of Oswego; one sister, Lerrina Green of Phoenix and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 9 at 2 p.m. at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Jerry Miller of the Pulaski Baptist Church officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski.
