Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, February 9, 1946 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Charter Member of Pulaski Odd Fellows Is Dead - George Cooper, 80, Prominent In Lodge Activities, Held All Offices - Pulaski - George Cooper, 80, died Friday in the Odd Fellows Home, Ithaca, where he had been staying for two years. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Cooper and was born in Canada on March 29, 1864. Coming to this country at the age of six months, he made his home in Pulaski and vicinity for many years. He was an expert cabinet maker by trade and worked in the old Tollner Factory for many years. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist church. For many years he was one of the leading Odd Fellows in this section and was the oldest member of Pulaski Lodge 648, in point of membership and is also believed to be the oldest in years. He had held all of the offices in the local lodge and was one of its most faithful members. The members will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Odd Fellows Temple to attend services in a body. Surviving are a son, Edward Cooper, one daughter, Mrs. Fred Leiterman, both of Syracuse, three grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Pulaski.
