Durell "Corky" E. Clemons

Durell "Corky" E. Clemons, age 75, life resident of Orwell and Pulaski, passed away Tuesday at his home. Corky was born January 9, 1939 in Orwell, the son of Ernest and Nerine Balch Clemons. He attended Pulaski and Sandy Creek Schools, and he served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1964. Corky married Bette LeClair in 1960 and she passed away in 1993. He was employed by Schoeller Technical Papers for 33 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Robert Edwards American Legion Post #358 in Pulaski and the Pulaski Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Tanya Clemons of Oswego, and Tina Clemons and Teresa (Douglas) Armstrong, both of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Darlene Pickett of Michigan, Donna Balcom of Pulaski and DaLinda Perzan of Sandy Creek; two brothers, Donald Clemons of Mapleview and Dean Clemons of North Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Corky was predeceased by one brother, Dwayne who passed away in 1974.
As were Corky's wishes, there will be no funeral services. His family will be gathering at the Pulaski America Legion Post #358, 3350 Maple Ave, Pulaski, NY 13142 from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, August 23, and would be honored to have friends and family join them in remembering and celebrating his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126 or the Pulaski American Legion Post #358. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
