    • Gloria H. Bray Obituary
Gloria H. Bray, of Pulaski passed away peacefully at home on January 15. As she did with everything her whole life long, she did it her way.

Gloria was born in Watertown on April 26, 1940, to John “Jack” Hunter and Vivian Gould. She was raised in Rutland, NY and later moved to Copenhagen and then Pulaski.

In Pulaski, Gloria raised 7 children of her own, as well as taking on 2 bonus kids and numerous others who needed love and support. She always had room in her heart and her home for any kid who was lost or in need. She was known all around town for her huge heart, feisty personality, and generosity. She took in any stray that needed a home, be it human, canine, or feline. Her house was always full of kids, cats, and dogs. She was stubborn, strong, tough, kind, and soft all at the same time. Her death leaves a huge hole that will never be filled.

Gloria is survived by the love of her life and long-time companion, Carl Howlett. She was extremely happy to be survived by all her children. She was, in fact, survived by a bevy of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and “adopted” children. Surviving children include Wesley (Paula) of Virginia Beach, VA, William (Missy) of Jeffersonville, IN, James (Mandy) of Henderson, MaryLu Moriarty of Lacona, Robert (Andrea) of Niskayuna, Tessie Wheeler of Oswego, Christel Egenhofer (Jerry) of the Villages, FL., Darlene Row of Dallas, TX, and Roy Ellis (Julie) of Deland, FL

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, several “fosters” and a slew of “skate park kids.”

She was predeceased by son-in-law Daniel J. Moriarty and great granddaughter Peyton Elizabeth Wheeler.

Gloria generously supported many different charities and anyone wishing to honor her might choose to donate in her memory to of one those. Some of her favorites were St. Jude’s Hospital, NOCA, Rural and Migrant Ministries, or United Friends of Homeless Animals.

A memorial service will be held at 3p.m., Sunday, January 19th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, prior to the funeral.
