- He was the husband of the late Mary Beebe Bailey,who died in 1952.His second wife,the late Lillian Gass Bailey,died in 1965.
Mr Bailey was born at Williamstown,Aug. 22, 1879,son of the late Thomas and Marguerite Warren Bailey.
He had been the young People's Sergeant Major in Oswego Salvation Army for many years.For many years,he was custodian at the Oswego Elks Club.He had also been employed at one time,at Oswego Yarn Mills,Lastlong Knitting Mills and the New York Central Railroad.
He was a former member of the Odd Fellows Club and a member of the local salvation army for 46 years.
Surviving are six daughters,Mrs Kenneth(Edith)McQuaid of Camden,N.J. Mrs George(Esther)Rice,Oswego,Mrs Walter(Edna)Burza,Oswego Mrs James (Gladys)Vanhorn,Oswego Mrs Maurice(Hazel)Dopp,Geneva,O,.and Mrs Ernest(Helen)Lehmann,Oswego;four sons,Raymond Bailey,Oswego town,William Bailey,California,Charles of Chicago Ill,and Clarence Bailey of Oswego, a sister Mrs Hannah Pecoy,Oswego;a sister-in-law, Mrs Mary Bailey,Oswego; 47 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; also several step children.Funeral services were held at Dain funeral home with Capt Harold Borror officiating.Burial was in Rural cemetery.
