Mildred A. Cates, 85, formerly of Pulaski, died Friday at a Port Charlotte, Fla., hospital.
Services will be private. Arrangements are with the National Cremation Society, Charlotte.
Memorial donations may be made to Pulaski Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, June C. Hilliker, Pulaski; a son, James, R., Port Charlotte; a stepson, Gordon Cates, League City, Texas; two brothers, Roland Stock, Mexico, and Donald Stock, Sandy Creek; two sisters, Grace Geglia, Red Hook, and Ruth Emery, Pulaski; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Richard A., died in 1959.
Mrs. Cates resided in Pulaski before moving to Florida 20 years ago. She taught in the Douglas Central School District in the town of Richland.

Former Pulaski resident Mildred A. Cates, 85, died Friday at a Port Charlotte, Fla., hospital.
A native of Mottville, Mrs. Cates had lived in Pulaski before moving to Port Charlotte 20 years ago. She was living in Punta Gorda, Fla., at the time of her death. Mrs. Cates had taught in the Douglas Central School District in the town of Richland. Her husband, Robert A., died in 1959.
Surviving are a daughter, June C. Hilliker of Pulaski; a son, James R. of Port Charlotte; a stepson, Gordon Cates of League City, Texas; two brothers, Roland Stock of Mexico and Donald Stock of Sandy Creek; two sisters, Grace Geglia of Red Hook and Ruth Emery of Pulaski; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
