    • November 13, 1891 ~ Esther Mahaffy, age 79 years, 6 months, born in New York, Daughter of David Cropsey and Mareah Coonreal, died in Pulaski of disease of the heart.

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 19, 1891 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In this village, at the residence of her son, D. C. Mahaffy, November 14, 1891, Esther, wife of the late Samuel Mahaffy, aged 79 years and five months. Mrs. Mahaffy has been a resident of Pulaski for about 54 years. She was daughter of David Cropsey, once of this town, but long since deceased. Previous to coming here, deceased resided in Rome. Her husband departed this life about four years since. Six children survive her, Mrs. Helen Munderback, Mrs. Jennie Gillespie, Mrs. Kate Sharp, Frank Mahaffy, David C. Mahaffy, John Mahaffy, all of whom reside in this town and all of whom were present at her death. She had been a member of the M. E. church for over forty years. The funeral, held on Tuesday, was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Bramley. There were thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren present at the funeral.
