The funeral of Mrs. Mary, wife of David Jones, took place at 1:00 p.m. A short service was held at the home; the remains were then taken to the church of Christ by Mr. Box. C. A. Pasino preached a short sermon from the following Scripture: "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4. The remains were interred in the Richland cemetery. Mrs. Jones was an old resident of Oswego County. She confessed her faith in Christ when but a child, and in her seventy-fourth year her hope in God's promise was still bright and precious to her. "O, if my Lord would come and meet! My soul shall stretch her wings in haste; Fly fearless through Death's iron gate, nor feel the terror as she passed."
