Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 9, 1894 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - At his home near South Richland, New York, April 24, 1894, Peter Carr, aged 64 years. Mr. Carr had lived in South Richland thirty-five years and was well known as an industrious, honest man. In his early manhood he chose for his companion Miss Samantha Simmons, of this place, who died about six years ago. About five years ago he married Miss Lara Enos, who survives him. For a number of years he had complained of illness, until at last it became very serious. Dr. Box, of Pulaski, was called, but only to relieve for a time, for no hand could stay the terrible disease, and at last his sufferings seemed to have been enough. His last hours were peaceful, for he had made his peace with his God, and they were full of perfect trust. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, Rev. H. R. Northrop officiating, assisted by Rev. C. E. Miller. Interment took place at Union Square. Friends from Mexico, Scriba, Oswego, and his daughters, Mrs. Lawson Calkins, of Albany, and Mrs. James Doney, of Dugway, attended the funeral.
