Former Syracuse resident Doris E. Thornhill Bailey, 79, died Oct. 28 in Oldsmar, Fla.
A native of New Haven, Mrs. Bailey lived in Syracuse for 30 years before moving to Florida more than four years ago. She retired in 1978 from the state Department of Transportation in Syracuse.
Mrs. Bailey received an associate's degree in accounting from University College.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Piraino of Liverpool and Phoebe Hoskins of Oldsmar; two brothers, Howard Thornhill of Carlisle, Pa., and Richard Coe of Camden; two sisters, Esther Vosseller of Mexico, N.Y., and Carina LaMay of Fulton; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Haven Rural Cemetery with Terri Lynn Coel officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 E. Bay Drive, Largo, Fla. 34640-9850.
Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, has charge of arrangements.

Doris E. Thornhill Bailey, 79, formerly of Syracuse, sister of Esther Vosseller, Mexico, died Oct. 28 in Oldsmar, Fla.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Haven Rural Cemetery with Terri Lynn Coel officiating.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo.
