David M. Balcom

David M. Balcom, age 74, life resident of Pulaski passed away Monday at his home. David was born April 13, 1939 in Pulaski, the son of Vann and Ella King Balcom. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1959. David married Donna Clemons on September 8, 1962. David was well known for being the owner and operator of Balcom's Sunoco for seven years. He retired from the Town of Richland Highway Department in 2000.
Surviving are wife, Donna D.; three sons, Kevin and Betty Balcom of Pulaski, Kirk Balcom of Atlanta, GA and Kip and Terry Balcom of Pulaski; two daughters, Kathy and Rodney Horning of Lufkin, TX and Kelly and Gregg Henderson of Apex, NC; two brothers, John and Earl Balcom; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. David was predeceased by his stepmother, Constance Rogers Balcom and his bothers, Alton, Francis and Leonard.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, at the Sandy Creek Methodist Church, with a private burial at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The David M. Balcom Memorial Fund," sent to Sandy Creek Methodist Church, P.O. Box 158 Sandy Creek, NY 13145 or the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Rd, 2nd Floor, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
