Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 29, 1969 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Elmer Riley Dies Suddenly - Elmer Darrell Riley of Richland, died May 27 at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown after a short illness. He was 63 years old. Born March 18 at Fairfield, Virginia he was married in 1933 to the former Frances Carr. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Darrell of Syracuse and Keith of Richland; a daughter, Sharon of Richland; wife sisters, Mrs. Archie (Ruby) Horton of Blackstone, Virginia, Mrs. Harold (Anstress) Pennock of Pulaski, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Nutting of Syracuse, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Wing of Richland; and Mrs. Rena Cobb of Lacona; and nephews and nieces. Mr. Riley was a 1929 graduate of Clarkson College of Technology where he earned a degree as a civil engineer. He had worked for the State of New York for the past 40 years, and at the time of his death was state engineer at the site of the demolition of buildings in Watertown. He was a member of the American Society of Engineers and the ROSA Garden Club. Funeral services, at present incomplete, are in charge of the Foster Funeral Home.
