The memorial service for Charlotte A. Reed will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, 7883 State Rt. 298, Belleville, with Pastor Denise Bowen of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, June 27th from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Lacona Volunteer Fire Dept., Lacona, NY 13083.
Mrs. Reed, 74, of Church St., Lacona, passed Tuesday, June 21st at her home.
She was born in Sandy Creek, January 22, 1937, a daughter of Herbert and Alice Reed Kast. Charlotte was employed in the sales department at Blount Lumber, Lacona for over 30 years retiring when the business closed in 1992.
Charlotte married Walter Weisenburger in 1957. He passed in 1969. She married James A. Reed in 1970. Mr. Reed passed away in January of 2005.
Mrs. Reed was a member of the Coterie Club in Lacona and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and camping. She was an avid Syracuse Orangeman basketball fan.
Charlotte is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Christine Weisenburger of Pulaski, Gregory and Tammy Reed of Baldwinsville. A daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Albert Johnson of Pulaski. Seven grandchildren. A sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Allen, Sandy Creek. Two nephews and a niece.
