      September 21, 2007 Janet T. Stamps, 83, of Cox Road, Williamstown, passed away Friday September 21, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Orwell, NY, on May 3, 1924, a daughter of Frank and Ethel Dawley Turner. Janet was a graduate of Pulaski High School and Oswego State and received her master's from Hofstra University. She was a schoolteacher for over 40 years, retiring from Camden Elementary School in 1983; she had previously taught at Williamstown Elementary. On June 22, 1946, she married Stanton Stamps in Altmar United Methodist Church. They had lived in Williamstown since 1956. Mr. Stamps died November 18, 1995. Mrs. Stamps was a member of the Hastings-Gorski American Legion #1128 Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are four sons, Robert Stamps and Marge Kelso of Morrisville, VT, David and Loretta Stamps of Adams, NY, James of Trinidad and Samuel and Anne Stamps of Liverpool; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; one sister, Doris Beach of Sackets Harbor, NY; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Frank and Kathy Muir and Mary Roser. She was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte, and three brothers, William, Francis and Robert Turner. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown, NY. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 109 Main Street, Camden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hastings-Gorski American Legion Post #1128 Ladies Auxiliary.
