Newspaper Obituary - Thursday March 18, 1999 The Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Lawrence E. Weisenburger, 69, of 284 county Route 64, Mexico, died Tuesday at Loretto Heights, Oswego. Born in Pulaski, he lived in the Pulaski and Sandy Creek areas for many years. He worked at Blount Lumber Co., Lacona, and General Electric, Syracuse. He was a former member of the Lacona and Sandy Creek fire departments. He was an Army veteran and attended St. Mary's Church, Mexico. Survivors: His wife, Margaret; two daughters, Linda Evans of Rome, Georgia, and Susan Cornwall of Coosa, Georgia; a son, Larry of Atlanta, Georgia; two stepsons, Richard Burrows and Charles Burrows, both of Mexico; a sister, Darcy Stevens of Pulaski; two brothers, James of Pinebluff, North Carolina, and David of Rome; several grandchildren. Services: Noon Friday at Foster-I Iax Funeral Home. Spring burial, South Richland Cemetery, Pulaski. Calling hours, 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home, 52 Park St., Pulaski. Lawrence E. Weisenburger, 69, County Route 64, died Tuesday at Loretto Nursing Home, Oswego.
Mr. Weisenburger worked for Blount Lumber Co., Lacona, and General Electric Co., Syracuse.
He was a former member of Lacona and Sandy Creek fire departments and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mexico. He enjoyed gardening, camping and dancing.
Born June 19, 1929, in Pulaski, the son of Alfred and Mabel A. Fox Weisenburger, he attended Pulaski and Sandy Creek schools and was an Army veteran.
He married Margaret Burrows on June 6, 1987. He had been married previously to the former Betty Jane Jennings.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Larry, Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Susan Evans, Coosa, Ga., and Linda Cornwell, Rome, Ga.; a sister, Darcy Stevens, Pulaski; two brothers, Pine Bluff, N.C., and David, Rome, N.Y.; two stepsons, Richard and Charles Burrows, both of Mexico; several grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.
A daughter, Beth, died before him.
The funeral will be at noon Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Stephen Wirkes officiating. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
