- Howard W. Weaver passed away Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, from the Harter Funeral Home, Parish NY. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

Howard William Weaver, Sr, 81 of Hastings entered into eternal life and peace on Tuesday June 30, 2015. Born in Caughdenoy, the son of the late Howard and Delta Strait Weaver. Howard was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed holding numerous positions He loved God and serving his church. He was an avid hunter and fishing enthusiast. Howard was an independent contractor who built 32 houses in the Hastings area. He also owned and operated the Hastings Family Grocery Store and a small car dealership. He was also a machinist for White Sunstrand and worked at SealRite. Howard was a veteran of the Army Signal Corps and served honorably in Germany from 1952-1956. He was also a member of his local VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 42 years; his daughter Melody Fetzer; five sons, Howard (Terry) Johnathan (Brenda), Jeremy (Melanie) Randy (Jackie) and Steven; two stepsons Mark (Barbara) Colson and Jay Colson; as well as grandchildren, great grandchldren and a great great granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Harter Funeral Home in Parish with burial in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.
