      Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - June 19, 1990

      Services for Ralph C. Murtaugh, 74, of Central Square, who died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness, will be Wednesday at the Watson Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

      Mr. Murtaugh was a native of Espanola, Canada. He lived in Syracuse before moving to Central Square 25 years ago. He was employed with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 545. He retired in 1980.

      He was a sergeant major in the Cameron Highlanders of the Canadian Army.

      Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Rita); two sons, Richard of Central Square and Rodney of Pennellville; two sisters, Marjorie Murtaugh of North Syracuse and Shirley Cole of Chicago; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
