      Robert Franklin September 30, 2016 Robert Franklin, 88, died peacefully on September 30, 2016 at his home in Marietta, GA, where he resided since August. He was born in Orwell, NY on August 5, 1928, the son of Harold Franklin and Lottie (Manwaring) Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Lillie (Hutchins), of 69 years, 3 children, Bonnie Howard of Pulaski, NY, Jeanne (Bruce) Grubb of Kalamazoo, MI, and Lisa (Jai) Wall of Marietta, GA, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death, by his two sisters, Judy and Charlotte and his grandson, Aaron. Bob was a graduate of Pulaski Academy and enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school. He was president and owner of Franklin Chevrolet, Olds, Buick Inc. until 1980 when he retired. Following that, he served on the board of trustees for the village of Pulaski and was an assessor for the town of Richland. He was a dedicated member of the Ringgold Fire Department for 35 years and remained their truck driver for his entire time with the company. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners for many years. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Pulaski and enjoyed singing in the choir for over 70 years. He was never happier than when the church choir came to sing for him on his birthday at Seneca Manor before leaving for his new home in Marietta. Bob's legacy is priceless. He left many with memories of love, tenderness, and courage. He will never be forgotten. He left a good name. Memorials may be made to Park Methodist United Church or a veteran's organization of your choosing. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
