Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 4, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Isaac Sylvester Holmes was born in West Exeter, Otsego County, June 24, 1821. He married Asenath Wright and to them were born two children, Mrs. Henrietta Lewis and Silas W. Holmes. The wife and mother died twenty years ago, June 2. Both children survive and are residents of Pulaski. Deceased is also survived by two grandchildren, Fordyce E. Lewis and Irwin Holmes. Twenty-one years ago last September Mr. Holmes moved to Pulaski and during his residence here he was regarded as a model of upright Christian manhood. He was a most faithful and devoted member of the M. E. church and whenever his health permitted was always found in his place at the church services. Mr. Holmes has not been in very good health for a number of years and during that time he has been most tenderly cared for in the home of his son, where the funeral was held Friday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Frederick Maunder officiating. Burial was made in Pulaski cemetery.
