      Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 6, 1994 Syracuse Herald-Journal - Syracuse, New York - Harry "Slipshot" West, 70, of Meadowview Apartments died Wednesday at James Square Nursing Home, Syracuse. A native of Norwood, Mr. West also lived in Ogdensburg before moving to the Central Square area more than 25 years ago. He retired from McConnels of Ogdensburg. Mr. West was a former member of the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Sands; four sons, Lloyd of Red Creek, Daniel and Rodney, both of Central Square, and Leonard of Parish; three daughters, Mary Hooge of Parish and Margaret Miller and Emma West, both of Mexico; three stepsons, Duane Snell of North Syracuse, Sidney Shaw of Sandy Creek and Delbert Shaw of Redfield; three stepdaughters, Sharon Ladouceur of Orwell, Etta Denny of Parish and Laura Lombardo of Central Square; 47 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Watson Funeral Home. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 206 South Main Street.
