      Last Monday night about 10:30 Elijah Roberts passed away at his home bordering Ontario Bay in the western part of this town. He battled for many years with cardiac asthma and finally he grew so weak that he could not thwart the attacks. He was born in this town the son of Judah Roberts and was a veteran of the Civil War. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Claude, Arthur and Alvie, and one daughter, Mrs. Ednah Edgett. Mr. Roberts was an upright man of few words and was highly respected. The funeral was held at the family home today Rev. Spencer Bacon Owens officiating. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery. The family has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
