      William H. Britton, 49, of Charles & Charles Road, died Saturday at Rome Hospital.

      Mr. Britton was a life resident of Williamstown. He was an operating engineer and mechanic for 30 years. He was also a former Oswego County legislator and a former town councilman for Williamstown.

      Surviving are his wife, the former Ann R. Palmer; his mother, Julia Oyer Britton, also of Williamstown; one son, William W. of Albany; two daughters, Laura A. and Lisa A., both at home; three sisters, Pauline Hale and Rosalie Platt, both of Williamstown, and Jean Kinney of Westdale; six brothers, Jerry, Lawrence, Brian, Rodney and Keith of Williamstown, and Steven of Westdale; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

      Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Camden United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Sanborn-McDaniels & LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main St., Camden.

      Contributions may be made to A.P.W. High School Youth Fund.
