- Funeral of James W. Trumbull
Pulaski. June 3- The Rev. Charles T. Halcombe, pastor of the First M.E. Church, officiated at the funeral of James W. Trumbull, 85, held from the house today. Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery.
The death of Mr. Trumbull occurred Sunday at his home, a mile east of this village, following a long illness. He was born February 15, 1834, on the farm where he passed away as was formerly owned by his father, the farm having been in the Trumbull family more than 100 years. He gave up active farm work a number of years ago on account of impaired health. Besides his widow he is survived by a son and daughter, Ransom E. Trumbull of this village and Mrs. Frances Ellis of the town of Richland.

•Trumbull, James W., of Scotch ancestry, was born in Richland February 15, 1834, son of James, who was born in Vermont and died in Oswego county aged eight-eight. He married Malinda Covey, born in Oswego county, where she died age forty-one. Their children were Elizabeth, Ann, Olive, Smith, Spencer, Luther, Maria, our subject. Selby D., and Elda; of whom Olive, Smith (killed in the battle of Petersburg), Spencer, Maria, Selby (who was wounded in Pittsburg Landing), and Elda are dead. The father was a soldier in the war of 1812. The grandfather, Simeon, was born in New England and died in Vermont. Subject was educated at Richland, is a farmer and dairyman, and is a Mason. He married July 22, 1856, Mary Jackson of Oswego county, daughter of Hilance and Dolly (Fox) Jackson, by whom he had these children; Frances, born December 25, 1858, and Ransom, born January 29, 1863. Frances married Charles Ellis of Richland, and has one son; Ransom lives with his parents.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 4, 1919 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Lehigh District - Sunday at 5:30 o'clock occurred the death of James Trumbull after a long and suffering illness. Mr. Trumbull was born February 15, 1834. He was born and always lived on the same farm until his death. He was a kind husband, father and neighbor and will be greatly missed. An aged widow; one daughter, Mrs. Francis Ellis; a son, Ransom, also one grandson Roy Ellis survive. He was a member of Pulaski Grange, No. 730. Private funeral services were held at his late home, Tuesday p.m. at two o'clock. Rev. C. T. Holcombe officiated. He was laid at rest in Riverside cemetery.
