Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 27, 1937 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Frances E. Nelson Dies in Richland - Mrs. Frances E. Nelson, 94, widow of Sylvester E. Nelson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Gurnett, Richland, about 11:30 Monday night, January 18 from infirmities of old age. Mrs. Nelson was one of the oldest residents of this part of the county and passed most of her long and useful life in Richland. Her last illness was of seven weeks duration. Mrs. Nelson was the daughter of Enos R. and Abigail Cook Hill and was born in the Town of Sandy Creek, March 7, 1842. She married Mr. Nelson in Richland December 20, 1866. Her husband was a well-known and capable carpenter and for many, years did much of the home and business building in this vicinity. He died December 3, 1904. Mrs. Nelson had made her home with her daughter since that time. She was a member of the Pulaski Grange and a former member of the Pulaski Congregational church. Surviving besides her daughter, are one sister, Mrs. Alice Beals; a brother, Clayton Hill; a niece, Mrs. Hugh Whitney, all of Pulaski, and two nephews, Harold Hill of Buffalo and Enos Hill of this village. The funeral was held at the daughter's home Thursday afternoon, Rev. Alfred W. Budd, of the Pulaski Congregational church, officiating, with burial in Richland cemetery. The bearers were Hugh Whitney and Enos Hill of Pulaski, and Maurice and Donald Coughlin of Watkins Glenn.
