- Newspaper Obituary - Friday, April 11, 1986 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - William W. Britton - CAMDEN - Services for William W. Britton, 68, of Main Street, Williamstown, who died April 9 at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Camden Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fair View Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 50 Taberg, st. Mr. Britton was a life resident of Williamstown. He retired in 1979 as an operating engineer. Mr. Britton was a member of Local 545, International Union of Engineers, a former member of the CCC of the Midwest, and a life member of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department and Still Brook Fish and Game Club. He was an honorary member of Hastings Gorski American Legion Post 1128 Williamstown. Surviving are his wife, the former Julia Oyer, seven sons, Jerry, William, Lawrence, Brian and Rodney, all of Williamstown. Steven of Westdale, and Keith of Altmar; three daughters, Pauline Hale and Rosalie Platt, both of Williamstown and Donna Jean Kinney of Westdale, six sisters, Julia McLaughlin of Mexico, Mary Meager of Camden, Viola Mowers of Florida, Ada Bulson of Brewerton, Elsie Wheeler of Altmar and Rosella Peck of Kasog; three brothers, Syemour of Canastota, Fay of Chittenango and Robert of Brewerton; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
