- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 9, 1902 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell - The many friends of Major Albert McKinney will be surprised in pain at the news of his sudden death at his home in Pierce City, Missouri, April 1st. He had been in good health and had just returned from a two week's absence in St. Louis where his business called him. He was found, at his home, in an unconscious condition from which he never rallied. Mr. McKinney went to the far west when a young man and had always made his home there. He had been married twice but had buried both companions many years ago. A son and daughter, of Chicago, one brother, Mr. Dwight McKinney, of this village, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Stowell, of Newark, New York, survive him. Mr. McKinney was a very prominent man in his state, holding many public positions of trust. He enlisted during the early part of the Civil War, was major when the war closed. He was a very intelligent man, highly respected by all who knew him. He visited his brother, Dwight McKinney, who was very sick, last fall. and expected to visit him again in a few months. He was seventy years of age.
